CONCRETE POETRY

"Concrete or shape poetry is poetry in which the typographical arrangement of words is as important in conveying the intended effect as the conventional elements of the poem, such as meaning of words, rhythm, rhyme and so on." - WIKIPEDIA

MY ANALYSIS

- CONCRETE POETRY RELATES TO MY PROJECT WELL, THE IDEA OF CONCRETE POETRY FORCES THE QUESTION OF AESTHETIC OVER CONTENT OR CONTENT OVER AESTHETIC?

- I FIND IT INTERESTING HOW POETS LIKE E.E.CUMMINGS PUSH THE BOUNDARIES OF LEGIBILITY AND FORCE THE VIEWER TO QUESTION THE EXTENT OF COMMUNICATION. I WOULD LIKE TO DEVELOP THIS IDEA OF SUBVERTED AND ILLEGIBLE TEXT WITHIN MY WORK.

- THE AESTHETIC OF CONCRETE POETRY IS SIMILAR TO THE WORK I DID WITH TYPEWRITERS, IT WOULD BE INTERESTING TO DEVELOP THIS CONCEPT DIGITALLY OR WITH OTHER LETTER FORMS.

- THE MINIMALIST AESTHETIC IS VERY INTERESTING IN THESE EXAMPLES AND WOULD CREATE INTERESTING CONTRASTS TO OTHER WORK IN UNIT 7.
